Member exits

A member may leave voluntarily or be removed by vote. Either way, the financial implications must be managed carefully. Voluntary exit — the member has NOT received their hand: Their contributions to date are returned from the CPR or next cycle, minus any outstanding obligations. Their Standing for contributions made is preserved. The circle adjusts the rotation. Voluntary exit — the member HAS received their hand: They owe the remaining contributions. They received a lump sum and must complete their obligation to the group. If they refuse, this becomes a default with Standing consequences and the CPR covers the shortfall. Removal by vote: A member can be proposed for removal for repeated rule violations. Requires two-thirds supermajority. Same financial settlement as voluntary exit. The removed member retains their Standing for contributions already made. The human dimension: an exit can feel like rejection. Handle it with dignity, clear communication, and strict process. Whether someone leaves by choice or by vote, the conversation should be private, the terms should be clear, and the Standing record should be fair.
