Confirming contributions

Confirming a contribution is the single most important action you take as Treasurer. It is the moment a payment becomes part of a member's permanent Financial Reliability Record (FRR). When a member makes their contribution (bank transfer, standing order, mobile payment), you verify that the money has been received and then confirm on the platform. The platform records the confirmation with a timestamp. The member's Standing score updates. Their record grows. To confirm: 1. Check that the payment has arrived in the circle's designated account 2. Open the contribution confirmation page for that member and period 3. Click "Confirm" Do this the same day if possible. When you delay, the member's record shows a later timestamp — even if they paid on time. If you were late confirming but the member paid on time, add a note so the scoring engine can distinguish Treasurer delay from member delay. Never confirm a contribution you have not verified. A false confirmation corrupts the member's record and undermines the integrity of the entire platform. A late confirmation is always better than a false one. Never backdate a confirmation. If a member paid on Monday but you confirm on Wednesday, the record shows Wednesday. That is honest. Backdating to Monday is falsification and can result in certification suspension.
